Maintenance
5.10
Clean the motor fan cover
If the motor fan-cover and enclosure are not kept clean, the air-flow over the motor can be restricted and the pump
may overheat.
1. Use the On/off switch (
, item 12) to switch off the pump, then disconnect it from the electrical supply.
2. Use a dry cloth and a soft brush to remove dirt and deposits from the fan cover (13) and enclosure.
5.11
Clean and overhaul the pump
Clean and overhaul the pump as described in the instructions supplied with the clean and overhaul kit (see
).
5.12
Test the motor condition
Test the earth continuity and the insulation resistance of the pump motor in accordance with local regulations for
periodic testing of electrical equipment.
The motor of the E-LAB 2 complies with IEC 1010-1. We recommend that, to maintain compliance with IEC 1010-1,
the earth continuity is less than 0.1
Ω
and the insulation resistance is greater than 10 M
Ω
.
If the motor fails these tests, replace the motor.
5.13
Fit new blades to the pump
Fit new blades to the pump as described in the instructions supplied with the blade kit (see
).
