SYSTEM SHUT-DOWN
4.11 SHUT-DOWN
1.
Turn main power switch off. If a floater or pressure switch has been installed on the system the RO will
automatically turn off when the storage tank is full.
2. If the unit is to be left inoperative for an extended period of time (more than 48 hours), the unit
membrane(s) should be treated with an approved product to prevent biological growth within the mem-
brane (see article 5.2.)
Attention
: Avoid storing the R.O. or membranes where freezing temperatures may occur. Irreparable damage
will occur to the membranes if frozen.
REGULAR CHECKUP
4.13 REGULAR CHECKUP
The reverse osmosis is designed that it can work with a minimum of attention. As with all mechanical systems,
regular service will increase service life and operational reliability. The maintenance performed by you is limi-
ted to keeping track of operating data, possibly flushing the membranes, replacing the pre-filter cartridges.
4.13.1 PERFORMANCE LOG
Create a file by regularly observing and recording the following data:
-
Input and output pressure on the prefilters
- Pump pressure
- Reading conductivity meter (option)
- Flow rates (production, drain, recycle)
4.13.2 PREFILTER CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT
1.
Visually inspect the prefilter cartridge every 30 days. If the filter core is discolored, this is an indication
that the filter has been in service too long and must be replaced. This also indicates a more frequent
filter inspection and replacement cycle should be considered.
2.
Turn the power switch off and close the feed water valve.
3.
Release the pressure from the prefilter by pressing the red button on top of the header
4.
Place both hands around the prefilter housing and turn until the filter housing is detached from the
header, using the supplied key, if necessary
5.
Remove the cartridge filter and empty the
water remaining in bowl. Rinse the inside of the bowl. If
necessary, clean the inside of the bowl with mild detergent and rinse thoroughly.
6.
Place a replacement cartridge in the filter housing and fill it with water. The cartridge will float slightly in
the filter housing and protrude slightly above the edge of the filter housing
7.
Make sure that the filter cartridge is placed in the corresponding opening in the
header and tighten secu-
rely by hand or with the supplied key
8. Open the feed water valve and turn the power switch on.
