  8. TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem

Possible cause

Method of handling

Fitting leak

Tube is not connected
tightly

Remove and reinstall the tube
properly.

Drain saddle leak

Drain saddle is not
installed correctly

Reinstall drain saddle as described in
paragraph 4.2 of this manual.

Filter housing leak

O-ring seal is missing
or misaligned

Check that the O-ring seal is correctly
seated in circular groove inside bowl.

Filter bowl is not
tightened

Hand tighten the housing till snug.

Purified water flow
rate is lower than
normal

Low feed water
pressure

If feed water operating pressure is
lower than 2 bar, eliminate any
upstream pressure drop and consider
installing pressure booster pump.

Soiled prefilters

Replace prefilters.

Soiled membranes

Replace membranes.

Bent flexible tube

Inspect the tubing and straighten if
necessary.

Purified water runs
normally for a few
seconds, then slows
down to a trickle (in
a pressure tank
equipped system)

Deflated pressure tank
bladder

Pressure tank must drain empty when
purified water tap is open and the RO
system is unplugged. If pressure in the
bladder of empty tank is less than
0,4 bar, inflate to required pressure.

The system keeps
switching on and off
and will not stop

Surges in feed water
pressure just above
low pressure switch
setting

Eliminate pressure surges. Check
supply water piping for clogs and other
obstructions and eliminate if present.

The system will not
switch on

Feed valve or main
shutoff valve is closed

Open all valves on supply water pipes.
Check for clogs/obstruction.

Low pressure switch
failure

Replace low pressure switch. Verify
proper electrical contact.

The system will not
switch off (although
purified water
faucet is closed,
pressure tank is full
or not used)

High pressure switch
failure

Replace high pressure switch. Verify
proper electrical contact.

Soiled membranes

Replace membranes.
