7. SANITIZATION
8. TROUBLESHOOTING
Sanitization of the reverse osmosis system is recommended after it has been in operation for an
extended period (over 6 months) or when the system is to be shut down for 3 weeks or longer. It is
also advisable to sanitize the system when replacing filters.
Sanitization is performed by water filter service specialist!

Screw on membrane housing caps.

Plug tubes back in the housings.

Open feed valve 5. Restore power supply to the system.

Let the system run for 30 minutes to flush out membrane preservative. Then, close
purified water faucet and open pressure tank valve (if used).

Fitting leak
Tube is not connected tightly
Remove and reinstall the tube
properly.
Filter housing leak
O-ring seal is missing or mis-
aligned
Check that the O-ring seal is
correctly seated in circular
groove inside bowl.
Filter bowl is not tightened
Hand tighten the housing till
snug.
Purified water flow rate is
lower than normal
Low feed water pressure
If feed water operating pres-
sure is lower than 2 bar
(29 psi), eliminate any
upstream pressure drop and
consider installing pressure
booster pump.
Clogged pre-filter
Replace pre-filter.
Clogged membranes
Replace membranes.
Bent flexible tube
Inspect the tubing and
straighten if necessary.
Purified water runs normally
for a few seconds, then slows
down to a trickle (in a pressure
tank equipped system)
Deflated pressure tank bladder Pressure tank must drain
empty when purified water
tap is open and the RO system
is unplugged. If the pressure
in the bladder of empty tank
is less than 0.4 bar (5.8 psi),
inflate to required pressure.
