Your energy-saver ECONO-HEAT wall panel
heater is designed as an alternative to conventional
bar heaters and other forms of high output heaters
that use large amounts of electricity. It operates at relatively low surface temperatures
(approximately 75°C - 90°C, depending on the ambient temperature), and uses minimal
electricity. There are numerous advantages to using ECONO-HEAT electric wall panel
heaters. They save on floor space, are safer to use around children and pets because of
its low thermal conductivity, and can be painted to match any décor with PVA or emulsion
type paint (do not use oil based paint). ECONO-HEAT wall panel heaters are designed to
be left on for long periods of time, giving you comfortable background heat at a low cost.
This is similar in concept to a central heating system – yet far less expensive.
rooM SiZES
Due to variable factors, it is impossible to specify what size panel or how many to install in
a room. we do however, recommend the following:
•
For regions with normal winters: 1 x 400 watt or 2 x 260 watt per approximately 10-
12m² of floor area.
•
For regions with very cold winters: 1 x 400 watt or 2 x 260 watt per approximately
8-10m² of floor area.
ECONO-HEAT wall panel heaters are International Safety Standards approved and have a
three year warranty provided they are used correctly.
conVEction tEcHnoloGY
ECONO-HEAT wall panel heaters provide efficient room heating
at a low cost. Using natural convection technology, heat is
generated behind the heater in the space between the panel
and the wall, which leads to an efficient up-draught of heat
circulated into the room. This principle of convection means that
about 90% of the heat comes from the back of the panel, while
only 10% is radiated from the front of the panel. Convection
heating (whole room heating) is far more effective than radiated
heating (locality heater).

MAintEnAncE: clEAninG tHE HEAtEr
Ensure that your heater is switched off and unplugged from the wall power outlet. Use a
soft damp cloth to wipe the front surface of the heater to remove any marks and dry. Do not
use abrasive cleaning materials as this can damage the surface finish.
WArninGS
•
In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater with anything,
including wet or dry washing. Covering the panel when switched on
could result in a fire hazard.
•
To ensure the correct and safe operation of the heater, the heater
must be orientated so that the switch is at the bottom right hand
corner.
•
ECONO-HEAT wall panel heaters are for wall mounting only and should under no
circumstances be used as free standing heaters.
•
This appliance should not be mounted behind curtains, furniture or under window sills, and
preferably not mounted on exterior walls within a room.
•
This appliance is safer to touch due to its low thermal conductivity. However, an infant or a
baby should not be left unattended as prolonged contact with the surface may result in an
injury.
•
This appliance is not suited for use in the bathroom.
•
This appliance is fitted with a 2-core cable only. Care should be taken when connecting to a
3-pin plug making sure that the earth terminal is NOT used.
•
If the supply cord of this panel is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
•
Before drilling into a wall, check that the area is free of electric wiring embedded in the wall.
•
The heater must not be located immediately below a socket-outlet.
•
First time use: when switching on the heater, there may be a slight odour during the first
day or two. This is quite normal and is caused by the residual moisture and does not
present any health hazard.
•
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
•
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
•
The ECONO-HEAT wall panel heater is manufactured to withstand a consistent
voltage supply between 220 – 240 VAC.Customers in regions that experience constant
voltages in excess of 240 volts, surges/spikes or erratic power supply, are advised
to use a voltage corrector/surge protector with our appliance. Our warranty does not
cover damages that result from these factors.
•
The heater must not be used if the fibre cement panels are damaged
•
wARNINg: This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature.
Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of
leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.
•
Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
•
Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance
provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe
way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8
years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.
•
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved
•
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision

tHrEE YEAr WArrAntY
ECONO-HEAT warrants that your ECONO-HEAT wall panel heater is free from manufacturing defects, subject to
the following conditions:
• Such warranty shall be to repair or replace the goods in the event of any manufacturing defect (which shall
exclude fair wear and tear) notified to ECONO-HEAT within 3 (three) years of the original purchase or, in
the case of installation by an approved ECONO-HEAT installer, first installation of the goods (“the warranty
Period”);
• Any liability on ECONO-HEAT hereunder shall be conditional on the goods having been stored and installed
properly (in accordance with ECONO-HEAT’s installation instructions) and, from the date of delivery:
- Having been used and maintained in accordance with ECONO-HEAT’s instructions and/or labelling on
the goods;
- No repairs, alterations thereon having been carried out by the Buyer or any third party.
• The warranty is in substitution for and excludes all expressed or implied (whether by law or otherwise)
conditions, warranties or obligations of any kind relating to fitness for purpose or quality of workmanship,
material or design, save to the extent that any law prevents such exclusion. ECONO-HEAT accepts no
liability for any workmanship of any approved installer (as contemplated above), the approved installers being
independent contractors.
liMitAtion oF liAbilitY
• Save as expressly provided for in these Conditions of Sale, and save as may be stipulated to the contrary
in the South African Consumer Protection Act, 2008, ECONO-HEAT shall not be liable to the Purchaser
(or their employees, servants or agents, contractors or successor purchasers) for and direct, indirect,
incidental or consequential damages of any nature howsoever caused (whether based in delict or contract
or otherwise) pursuant to or arising in respect of the installation and/or use of the goods. This means that
if any loss, damage or harm is caused to anyone due to the use or installation of these goods, you may not
hold ECONO-HEAT liable in law.
• Save as may be stipulated to the contrary in the South African Consumer Protection Act, 2008, in respect of
any liability of the Seller that has been excluded, the Purchaser hereby indemnifies
ECONO-HEAT Energy Efficient Heating Appliances (Pty) Ltd (its members, employees and agents) against
all actions, proceedings and claims whatsoever brought against it (its members, employees or agents),
by any third party pursuant to, arising in respect of the installation and/or use and/or supply of the goods.
This means that if ECONO-HEAT is sued by anyone mentioned in paragraph 1 above arising from the
installation or use of the product that you as the Purchaser will financially indemnify ECONO-HEAT against
any losses which ECONO-HEAT may suffer, as a result of such law suit.

TECNOLOGÍA DE CONVECCIÓN
Los paneles calefactores ECONO-HEAT proporcionan

MAntEniMiEnto: liMpiEZA DEl cAlEFActor
Asegúrese que el calefactor está apagado y desenchufado. Use un paño húmedo para
limpiar la parte frontal del panel para eliminar cualquier mancha, secándolo después.
No utilice productos abrasivos que pudieran dañar la superficie del panel.
ADVErtEnciAS
•
Con el fin de evitar sobrecalentamiento, no cubra el calefactor con
nada, incluyendo ropa mojada o seca. Cubrir el panel cuando está
encendido, podría conllevar un peligro de incendio.
•
Para asegurar un uso seguro y correcto del panel, éste debe estar
orientado de forma tal que el interruptor se ubique en la esquina
inferior derecha.
•
Los paneles calefactores ECONO-HEAT precisan ser instalados
sobre la pared y no deben usarse bajo ninguna circunstancia como calefactores de pie.
•
Este equipo no debiera ser instalado detrás de cortinas, muebles o debajo de ventanas y
preferiblemente se deben evitar las paredes que den al exterior.
•
Este equipo es seguro para niños – su tacto no presenta peligro alguno. No obstante,
nunca deje a un bebé o niño sin vigilancia ya que el contacto prolongado con la superficie
podría conllevar una lesión.
•
Este equipo no es adecuado para ser usado en cuartos de baño.
•
Este calefactor está equipado con un cable de dos tomas solamente. Tenga cuidado
cuando lo conecte a un enchufe de tres tomas, asegurándose de que el extremo de tierra

•
