2 Safety
CAUTION
Safety warnings and emphases must be observed in all cases!
WARNING
2.1 General safety information
The Ecodos-PCB has been constructed and checked in accordance with DIN EN 61010-
1:2004-01 and left the factory in a safe, faultless technical condition.
To keep the device in this condition and to ensure risk-free operation, the user must observe
the instructions and warnings in this Operating Instruction.
CAUTION
If you believe that the equipment can no longer be operated safely, you must take it out of
operation and secure it so that it cannot be used.
This must be done if the equipment has visible damage, no longer appears to be fully
functional, or if it has been stored for a long time in poor conditions.
Parts carrying an electric current can be exposed when the equipment is opened. You must
therefore turn off the mains voltage first. Maintenance work that takes place when the
equipment is energized must only be carried out by a specialist.
• Connection and repair work on the Ecodos-PCB may only be performed by authorised
experts.
• Safety provisions covering the handling of chemicals are always to be observed.
2.2 Maintenance and repair work
Maintenance and repair are only performed by authorised experts.
CAUTION
Repair work may only be performed in dead condition.
The protective clothing specified (protective goggles, gloves, apron) is to be worn for
maintenance and repair work to parts which come into contact with hazardous products.
The information in the product datasheet for the dispensing medium is to be observed.
At Solid-Dosing units: Before removing of the capsule the QUIT-button has to be pushed. So
a flushing out is stopped for 30 seconds.

IMPORTANT
Only original spare parts may be used in repairs.
2.3 Emphases
The emphases have the following meanings:
CAUTION
Used when failure to follow the operating instructions, work instructions, prescribed working
procedures or the like may lead to injuries or accidents.
WARNING!
Used when failure to follow the operating instructions, work instructions, working procedures,
and the like, either completely or in part, may lead to equipment damage.
IMPORTANT
Used when particular care must be exercised when handling the equipment.
INFORMATION
Used to indicate an aspect of particular importance.
