Start up
Oil side
!
Risk of air blast!
Continuously check CO, CO2 and
soot emissions when adjusting the
output of the burner. Optimise
combustion values in the event of
CO formation. CO must not exceed
50 ppm.
Start up the burner
The control box starts the pre-purge cycle,
the fan motor and the oil motor and opens
the air flaps in full open positon.
At the end of pre-purging, the control box
starts the igniton transformer.
After a few seconds the control box opens
the pump oil valve, and the 1st stage sole-
noid valve (Low flame) and starts the
flame. After a safety interval of 5 seconds
and a correct ignition, the control box turns
off the ignition transformer and, 5 seconds
later, opens the 2nd stage solenoid valve
(High flame). In order to obtain an optimal
combustion, it is necessary adjust the
LOW - HIGH flame air flow, according to
the instruction given further on. During
such a phase, it will be possible to ma-
nually switch between HIGH ( II ) and
LOW ( I ) flame and viceversa, through the
High/Low flame switch. At the end of the
adjusting phase, leave the switch in posi-
tion II (HIGH flame).
In case of faulty igniton, the control box
switches the burner into safety condition,
in such a case you must rearm the burner.
Check the combustion values and adjust
the oil pressure.
Adjusting the maximum oil flow rate
Put the selector on the maximum
operation. Adjust the oil pressure reading
the value on the return manometer /
pressure gauge according to the nozzle
tables.
NOTE:
the pump pressure is set from the
factory at the pressure required nozzle
pressure required as per table of nozzle.
If the output required is different from the
one set from the factory the pressure can
be adjusted according to the instruction
below.
Air flow rate adjustment in Low flame
running (fig.4):
1) Start the burner (checking that the air
damper is partially open).
2) Loosen clamping screw D.
3) Turn air damper C until obtaining a cor-
rect combustion (checked with a com-
bustion gas analysis set).
4)Tighten clamping screw D.
Air flow rate adjustment in High flame
running (fig.4):
WARNING
: due to the presence of oil
under pressure in the hydraulic jack when
the burner is working in High flame condi-
tion, the air flow rate adjustment is to be
made with the use of an adjusting ring nut
1 with the burner running in Low flame
condition. The combustion checks are to
be done once the burner is turned to High
flame condition again.
1) Loosen clamping ring nut 2.
2) Increase or decrease the air flow rate
through the adjusting ring nut 1 (Clock-
wise to increase, counterclockwise to
decrease).
3) Tighten clamping ring nut 2.
4) Switch manually from Low flame to High
flame and check the combustion values.
On the selector put the operation on minimum capacity.
KMV
!
KMV contactor:
check the oil pump motor and air fan motor rotation.
If the rotation if not correct invert the two phases on the power supply.
: operation on minimum
capacity
: operation on maximum
capacity (automatic
operation)
Firing head setting (fig.5)
The firing head position adjustment is
made in order to obtain the best combu-
stion efficiency. When used with minimum
outputs the firing head is adjusted in rear
position. With high output, the firing head
is adjusted in forward position.
Adjustment:
- Loosen screw A through a suitable Allen
key.
- By a screwdriver act on the hex. head
screw B until is reached the desired posi-
tion.
- Tighten screw A.
