Processing of components
It is essential to use the tool with largest possible working surface in order to keep the surface
pressure at a minimum. Only during the shaping procedure (at narrow radii) or when processing smaller
components and smaller rims, the smaller tools are used.
Standard forming tools are universal and not attached to one job only. The required shape is
gradually achieved while working the material, in contrary to deep-drawing or pressing procedures. By
doing this the shaping can be influenced at any time. Different forms can be made
with individual tools.
Degrease and thoroughly clean the components before forming.
— Dirt and grease reduce the forming ability
— The danger of a machine overload exists
Insert the material between the contacting surfaces of the tools and lower the ram until you feel the tools
working on the material starting the forming.
The working pressure can be adjusted by turning the adjusting knob.
Slowly lead the component between the tool halves with your hands.
WARNING
— Falling component (sheet metal)
—
Operating the product without the necessary at-tention
—> Risk of injury to hands and fingers, Risk of injury to personnel
