TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
Possible Cause
Solution
Engine will not start.
On/off/choke lever is
STOP
position.
Fuel valve is
OFF
.
No fuel.
Stale gasoline or water in gasoline.
Lubricant level is low.
Spark plug faulty, fouled, or improperly
gapped.
Engine stored without treating or
draining gasoline, or refueled with bad
gasoline.
Dirty fuel filter.
CO sensor LED is flashing red, indicating
a CO hazard.
CO sensor LED is flashing yellow and/
or making an audible chirp, indicating
a sensor fault.
Turn on/of/choke lever to
RUN
position.
Turn fuel valve to
ON
position.
Fill fuel tank.
Drain entire system and refill with fresh
fuel.
Engine is equipped with low oil shut-
down. If engine lubricant level is low,
it must be filled before it will start.
Check engine lubricant level and fill, if
necessary.
Replace spark plug.
Drain fuel and carburetor. Refuel with
fresh gasoline.
Contact an authorized dealer.
Leave area immediately and relocate
to an open outdoor area. Ventilate area
thoroughly before occupying again.
Ensure the generator is located in an
open outdoor area at least 20 feet (6 m)
away from all doors, windows, and oc-
cupied spaces, and point exhaust away
from occupied structures.
The CO sensor needs to be repaired
or replaced. Contact customer service
or an authorized dealer for assistance.
Engine hard to start.
Water in gasoline.
Weak spark at spark plug.
Drain entire system and refill with fresh
fuel.
Contact an authorized dealer.
Engine lacks power.
Engine stored without treating or
draining gasoline, or refueled with bad
gasoline.
Dirty air filter.
Drain fuel and carburetor. Refuel with
fresh gasoline.
Clean or replace as needed.
AC receptacle does not work.
Item plugged in is defective.
Generator is overloaded.
Circuit breaker is tripped.
Try a different item.
Remove loads and press the reset
button.
Reset the AC circuit breaker.
DC receptacle does not work.
Circuit breaker is tripped.
Reset the DC circuit breaker.
If problem persists after trying the above solutions, contact customer service or an authorized dealer for assistance.
