6. Return the selector switch to the “OFF” position.
7. Unplug the remote operator from the receptacle.
8. Rotate and remove key “KU” from Lock #1. This electrically dis-
ables the 38 kV SEG&TD.
9. Place key “KU” in the Utility lockbox.
3.8 Un-grounding the incoming feeder
No separate un-grounding procedure is needed for lower SEG&TD
version. The un-grounding is automatically performed when the
SEG&TD is pulled out of the switchgear/minimod for performing the
voltage probing operation as described in section: 3.6.2.2 - 3.6.2.3.
3.9 Removing the SEG&TD from breaker cell
This procedure is performed while performing the voltage probing
configuration conversion and is provided in section: 3.6.2.3.
Make sure the locations of the keys are as follows, after the remov-
ing the SEG&TD from the breaker cell.

1. Once the 38 kV SEG&TD is racked out of the breaker cell,
rotate key “KC” in Lock #3 and remove it.
2. Insert key “KC” into Lock #2 and rotate it to release key “KB”.
3. Insert key “KB” into Lock #1 then rotate and remove key “KU”.
4. Return key “KU” to the Utility lockbox.
5. Store the 38 kV SEG&TD in an environment that meets specifi-
cations.
Once outside the breaker cell, make sure the keys are in the follow-
ing locks.

4 Maintenance
The 38 kV SEG&TD is very similar to the VCPW-HD/HDR Vacuum
Circuit Breaker. For maintenance information for the 38 kV
SEG&TD, please refer to the “Instructions for the Use, Operation,
and Maintenance of Type VCPW-HD/HDR Vacuum Circuit Breakers”
instruction manual (IB131020EN) supplied with the breaker.
