PRELIMINARY COMMENTS AND SAFETY
PRECAUTIONS
This Technical document covers most aspects associated
with the installation, application, operation, and mainte-
nance of the Cutler-Hammer Digitrip 3000 Family of Pro-
tective Relays. Table 1.1 shows all of the DT3000 Family
products that are covered by this Instruction Book. Prod-
uct-specific type specifications are defined in the Appen-
dices at the end of this book. ANY INFORMATION IN
THE APPENDICES SUPERCEDES THAT IN THE MAIN
PORTION OF THIS BOOK.
For DT3001 and DT3031 Drawout Case styles, replace-
ment parts can be ordered separately. Refer to Table 1.2
for a list of these style numbers.
NOTE: THE TERM “DT3000”, AS USED IN THIS
INSTRUCTION BOOK I.B. 17555C, IMPLIES TO ALL
DT3000 FAMILY PRODUCT STYLES LISTED IN
TABLES 1.1 AND 1.2. INDIVIDUAL STYLE NAMES
(I.E. DT3030, DT3031, ETC.) WILL BE USED WHERE
PRODUCT STYLE DIFFERENTIATION IS
APPLICABLE.
This document is provided as a guide for authorized and
qualified personnel only in the selection and application
of the Digitrip 3000 Protective Relay. Please refer to the
specific WARNING and CAUTION in Section 1-1.2 before
proceeding. If further information is required by the pur-
chaser regarding a particular installation, application or
maintenance activity, a Cutler-Hammer representative
should be contacted.
