2.3 Installation of gear rack
a) The racks should be installed
starting from the lock side.
b) Screw the racks in using M6x30
bolts and
∅
6.2 washers.
c) Adjust the height of the drive and/or gear rack
in order to obtain spacing of about 1 mm
between the rack and the gear.
This placement is
important , as it allows
avoiding premature wear and tear of the gear
and the gear rack; the gear should not carry the
weight of the gate.
Check whether:
• the drive is at a correct height,
• the gate moves correctly: the gate should be moving freely along its track,
• the gear is driven through the whole time of the gate moving along its track,
• the gear rack-gear combo does not change its location to a significant extent on the whole length of the
gate travel track.
If these conditions are not met:
1. Adjust the height and place the drive at the right level.
2. If necessary, adjust the position of the gear rack and tighten the drive nuts.
3. Place the drive in the middle of the travel track.
4. Lock the drive.
CAUTION:
Never lock the drive when the gate is moving.
