Adjust your caravan or trailer to a convenient working
height. A lifting platform or installation pit is preferable.
Ensure that the caravan or trailer is secured with suita-
ble trestles when using a jack.
5. Installation, mechanics
GB4
CAUTION!
The length of the stabiliser rod must be adapted to the
vehicle according to the installation dimensions speci-
fied in Figure 8.1 and 9.1.
You must use a longer stabiliser rod when the stabi-
liser rod provided does not at least extend 300 mm into
the square tube of the mounting frame. Optimal func-
tion can otherwise not be guaranteed.
The stabiliser rod provided must be shortened when it
is too long.
Remove all parts from the packaging and systematical-
ly arrange them on the floor in front of you.
Working under the vehicle without sup-
port and safety provisions poses a mortal
risk!
M3 Installation of stabiliser rod, Figure. 7.1 + 7.2
Accurately determine the middle of the stabiliser and
mark it.
Slide the stabiliser rod into the square tube of the al-
ready mounted drive unit.
Slide the other drive unit over the other end of the
stabiliser rod and fasten it to the vehicle frame by using
clamping plates. Also hand-tighten these screws.
Align the stabiliser rod in the middle and hand-tighten
its clamping screws.
M2 Installation frame and clamping plates
Figure 4.1 to 4.4
In a first step, fasten the left or right drive unit to the
chassis by using (two) brackets as well as an angled
installation plate and the top part of a clamping profile
for each unit (Figure 4.4). Position the angled installa-
tion plate under the chassis frame so that the frame is
clamped between the mounting plate and the top sec-
tion of the clamping profile. Tighten the screws by
hand.
Position the drive unit in relation to the chassis as
shown in Figure 4.2. The distance from the middle of
the mounting frame to the wheel is approx. 200 mm.
M1 Determine the installation position in Fig. 8.1
Determine whether the ideal installation position is in
front of or behind the axle. Ensure the following:
The distance between the vehicle floor and the lower
edge of the frame (min. 50 mm !)
The distance between the lower edge of the frame
and ground (recommended ground clearance min.
120 mm)
Possible attachments mounted on the trailer, e.g.
waste water pipes, spare wheel, etc.
There have to be used screws which at
least comply with strength class
(category) 8.8!
English
M4 Drive unit Figure 6.1 + 6.2
Fasten the drive units to the mounting frame using the
self-locking M10x14 mm nuts with washers (60 Nm).
The self-locking screws can be
recognised by their red thread
markings.
CAUTION! The M10x14 mm screws (red thread) may
only be screwed in once. Only new, original M10x14
mm (red thread, REICH Item No. 227-1550) may be
used when the unit needs to be refastened. Also com-
parable M10x14 mm screws (at least strength class
8.8) with a screw lock of type WEICON AN 302-72 or
an equivalent product may alternatively be used.
