PlugIn interface 

The meter can be extended with PlugIn Modules. The PlugIn is installed at defined space of the 
terminal block. The electrical connection is done with a 4-pin socket. The interface can only be used 
by released PlugIn of the manufacturer. 
The interface is a serial TTL-interface with communication lines Rx, Tx. Inside the meter a DC-DC 
converter can be assembled for power supply the PlugIn-Modules. A meter with an assembled DC-DC 
converter is marked with an “H” in the type code (WS74xx.xH).

At the moment two types of PlugIn modules are available: 
 

a)

 

LMN-PlugIn 

 

The LMN-PlugIn enables it to connect the meter to a Smart Meter Gateway (SMGW) as 
defined in the FNN specifications. The LMN-PlugIn is powered by the connected SMGW.  

 

b)

 

LoRa-PlugIn 

 
 

The LoRa-PlugIn is a module which enables the meter to a radio-based connection or network  

 

like wireless Mbus or LoRa-WAN.

Behavior of external interfaces 

All interfaces are constructed in a way that connected external devices can’t have any influence on the 
meter or proper operation of the meter.
