PROCEDURE FOR WEIGHING THE HELICOPTER
Preparation of the aircraft
Ø
Purge the fuel.
Ø
Check oil levels.
Ø
Place the blades in longitudinal position.
Ø
Check that all equipment included in the basic configuration are correctly
installed.
Ø
Check the cleanliness of the aircraft and remove any foreign body.
Method to determine empty C.G. position and empty weight
Ø
Place a water level on the rotor mast or on the tail boom.
Ø
Hang the helicopter from a hoist.
Ø
Note the empty weight _________kg.
Ø
Place a tube under the skids, perpendicular to the helicopter.
Ø
Lower the helicopter on the tube.
Ø
Roll the helicopter on the tube until finding the equilibrium (tail tube at 0°).
Ø
Measure the distance between the tube under the skids and the rotor mast.
Ø
Note the empty C.G._________kg.
NOTE
A positive distance means that the centre of gravity is located in front of the
rotor mast.
A negative distance means that the centre of gravity is located at the rear of the
rotor mast.
6.3
CALCULATION OF WEIGHT AND BALANCE
For each part of a helicopter there is an associated weight expressed in kilos and a
moment in relation to the datum point (the rotor mast) expressed in kg*m. This moment
corresponds to the weight of the part multiplied by the distance from the centre of
gravity of the part by reference to the datum.
Before each flight you should :
Ø
Check that the position of the C.G. of the Dynali H3 Sport, as it will be on take-
off, is within the fore and aft balance limits.
Ø
Ensure that the take-off weight of the Dynali H3 Sport does not exceed the
maximum authorised take-off weight.
