Attaching the Completed DXE-AL24 Antenna to the Customer
Supplied Mounting Pipe
The completed antenna can be slipped over the customer supplied installed mounting pipe. There
should be approximately 1” of clearance between the bottom of the Mounting Plate and the ground
level and approximately 1/4” of mounting pipe above the top edge of the Mounting Plate. Refer to
Figure 16
which shows the completed antenna.
Once in place, tighten the Hex Nuts for the two Stainless Steel V-Clamps evenly.

Hi-Z recommends using a 3 to 4 foot Ground Rod (depending on soil conditions) located near the
antenna base. The bottom ground connection hardware that was installed earlier is the ground rod
connection point.
RG-6 coaxial cable with an F-Connector is connected to the bottom of the optional Hi-Z Plus-6
High Impedance Amplifier. This connection should be weather sealed. The
TES-2155
3M Rubber
Splicing Tape and
TES-06132
Scotch Super 33+ are ideal for this purpose.(See Optional Items for
details).
The Antenna and Ground Connections may be weatherproofed by adding some Black Non-Acetic
RTV. The
PTX-82180
Black RTV is ideal for this purpose.(See Optional Items for details).
