5 Commissioning
Commissioning must be performed only by authorised and qualified specialist personnel.
Test according to accident prevention regulations
1. If the electrical equipment is interfered with during the assembly or installation of ma-
chines and operating equipment from various manufacturers, a test according to the acci-
dent prevention regulations must be performed prior to commissioning.
2. If the electrical equipment is interfered with following modifications to components sup-
plied by BWT, a test according to the accident prevention regulations must be performed
prior to commissioning.
Putting the device into operation
Commissioning is performed by the BWT service team and includes the following work.
ü
Use the device for commissioning in the
INSPECTION MODE
menu.
1) Check the direction of rotation of the pump (which is indicated on the pump vent head).
2) Check that all hydraulic connections and lines are tightly connected and sealed.
3) Check the operating pressure. The permissible feed water pressure of the introduced feed
water must be between 2.5–6.0
bar. Avoid pressure fluctuations of more than ± 0.5
bar. If
the inlet pressure is 6.0 bar, a pressure reducer must be installed; if the inlet pressure is be-
low 2.5 bar, the device must not be put into operation.
4) Check all electrical connections.
5) Check that all pre-treatment and post-treatment devices are connected correctly.
6) Check the quality of the pre-treated feed water (see the table
24]).
7) Check that the WCF values are optimal based on the local conditions.
8) Set the parameters and limiting values.
ð
The device is now ready for operation.
Feed water requirements (softened water)
BWT recommends installing a softening unit or antiscalant dosing unit downstream from the
reverse osmosis device. If the reverse osmosis device is operated without this pre-treatment,
there is a risk, depending on the feed water quality, that hardness elements may be deposited
on the membrane. This leads to a reduction in permeate quality and permeate output.
NOTICE! Any deviation from the intended use may lead to irreversible damage to the device.
