• Turn on the device. When the device is turned on,
a high, medium, medium / low and low tone are
reproduced. The default is set to all metals, the
sensitivity to level 3.
• Test the ‘all metals’ mode by swinging the metal
samples about 10 cm above the search coil.
• The unit has four different sounds. The depth dis -
play shows 4.
• The object symbol display shows the relevant
symbol.

1. Test the discrimination mode by disabling the detection of iron and swinging the metal
samples about 10 cm above the search coil. The iron nail should not activate the unit.
The device should respond to the remaining samples as listed in the table above.
2. Test the treasure mode by selecting it and then repeating the recognition procedure with
the four different metal samples. Again, no reaction should result from the iron nail. The
device should respond to the remaining samples as listed in the table above.
3. Test the custom mode by selecting it and then repeating the recognition procedure with
the four different metal samples. The types of metal set by you as undesirable should
not activate the unit. The device should respond to the remaining samples as listed in
the table above.
4. Test the coin mode by selecting it and then repeating the recognition procedure with the
four different metal samples. Again, no reaction should result from the iron nail. The
device should respond to the remaining samples as listed in the table above.
5. Test the localisation mode by holding down the localisation key and thus activating the
mode. The location indicator lights up and the coil depth shows 8+ (indicating that the
object is located at a distance of more than 8 inches).
