INTRODUCTION:
This V2 version of the Durafly Me-163 retains some of the unique features of the original version,
with the addition of some new ones. The V2 now features a gravity release scale 'dolly' style
undercarriage making the take-off procedure less complicated whilst reducing weight
, it also has a
wider wheelbase for better ground handling
.
This system allows the dolly to
simply fall away once
you pull up into the climb and the weight comes off the model. The original magnetic gear release
system is still available as an optional extra if you require it, this is really only necessary if you fly
from a bumpy strip. The V2 Me-163 is now a 4S set-up as standard, a redesign of the center internal
fuselage and wing spar system has allowed for this, increasing internal capacity and again further
reducing the AUW of the model. But, the versatility of the power system remains, you can still fly the
Komet on a 3S battery if you wish with no change needed to the power system.
Being "Plug N
Fly
" the motor, ESC, and servos are
pre-installed. and
ready to hook up to your
choice of receiver. The molded EPO construction has a highly detailed finish on the outside, and
carbon reinforcement internally. Other features are a color matched hard plastic belly skid, good
access to all electronics via the battery/canopy hatch, and excellent cooling throughout.
Designed for pilots with some experience, the Me-163 benefits from an incredible flight performance,
from great stability, to full power climb outs, and unlimited verticals. Aerobatics including huge loops,
vertical rolls out of sight, and very fast low passes are easily achievable, yet slow the Me-163 down
and it's very stable, with no hint of a stall. Using the recommended 2200mah 30-65C 4S LiPo and
the supplied 6x4 prop, you can expect flight times well beyond 5 minutes and an abundance of
power. For those of you who love speed and very fast models, then this one is for you, the Komet
Me-163 is ballistic.
Combine all this with an airframe that is also designed to take a model rocket engine for an
incredibly scale looking climb-out, a high level of scale detail, then you've got the most authentic
model of an Me-163 on the market today.
