Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause Diagnostic
Unit does not power ON 1. Input fuses are open
2. AC outlet has no output
3. AC line cord is defective
4. Micro switch is open
1. See Changing Fuses
2. Verify AC outlet
3. Check power cord for
continuity
4. Ensure control unit top cover
is properly closed
Unit BEEPs at power ON, but
LEDs or display segments do
not illuminate Internal front panel
connection is not properly
installed Check ribbon cable connector is
properly installed

if problem persists, return unit to

After power ON, no response
when front panel buttons are
depressed Front panel button(s) are
defective Check ribbon cable connector is
properly installed

if problem persists, return unit to

No BEEPs from unit when
front panel buttons are
depressed Speaker is disabled See Disabling the Control Unit

Unit turns ON, but there is no
response and display has
randomly lit LEDs or display
segments Microprocessor is not

1. Safety interlock circuit is
open
2. Ion pump cable ground
sense is open
3. Control unit is in Mode 1
1. Check ground sense
connection(s)
2. Check ion pump cable for
continuity

HIGH VOLTAGE LED is ON, but
high voltage output is 0 kV
when ion pump is either
connected or disconnected 1. High voltage output is
shorted
2. Internal high voltage
power supply has failed
1. Remove high voltage
connector from ion pump
and restart control unit
2. Return unit to Duniway
Stockroom
HIGH VOLTAGE LED is ON, but
current is approximately 0 µA
and ion pump is connected 1. Ion pump is at pressure
less than 10
