Command Characters

The  following  input  format  is  used  by  the  Terranova®  752A  to  modify  unit  parameters  or
operate unit functions

*

[Hexadecimal Address][Command Character]

:

[Parameter Value][

,

(Checksum Value)]

<cr>

where the asterisk symbol (

*

) indicates the start of transmission, the colon symbol (

:

) tags the

transmission  as  a  command  string,  and  the  return  character  (

<cr>

)  ends  input/output

transmission.  The  command  character  is  a  two-letter  character  used  to  select  the  unit
parameter or function  to  modify  or  operate,  respectively.  A parameter value  must follow  the
command character after the colon symbol

 see

Table 11

for a list of command characters and

corresponding parameter values. Command characters are not case-sensitive.

The hexadecimal address is a two-digit hexadecimal value from 00 to FF (or 0 to 255 in decimal
notation)  used  to  differentiate  between  multiple  devices.  The  hexadecimal  address  is  only
necessary  when  the  unit  is  configured  for  RS-485  serial  communication

  see

Changing  the

RS-485 Address

The checksum value is a two-character value used to conduct checksums with external devices
when  DIP  Switch  S3-5  is  ON.  The  comma  mark  (

,

)  must  be  included  in  the  command  string  if

sending  a  checksum  value.  Although  a  checksum  value  is not  necessary  in  a  command  string,
the  Terranova®  752A  will  always  output  a  checksum  value  regardless  of  DIP  Switch  S3-5
position.  The  checksum  function  may  be  disabled  by  either  setting  DIP  Switch  S3-5  to  OFF  or
sending  a

00

checksum  value  when  DIP  Switch  S3-5  is  ON

  see

Figure  3

  for  DIP  Switch  S3

location.

Command strings to modify unit parameters may be sent while HV operation is OFF or disabled
due  to  an  open  safety  interlock  circuit.  Any  saved  changes  will  appear  once  the  Terranova®
752A  resumes  normal  operation.  User  may  also  manually  modify  unit  parameters  while
concurrently communicating with the Terranova® 752A.
