5.10 Additional instructions

Connect the appliance to the wall using wall brackets (B) and the key bolts supplied (see Appendix 3, Fig. 1).
5.11 Glass panes
!Caution
-
Avoid damaging the glass panes during removal/placing;
-
Avoid/remove fingerprints on the glass panes, since otherwise they will burn into the surface;
5.11.1 Removing the glass pane
When removing the glass window, you hould follow the next steps (see Appendix 3, fig. (6 to 8).
!Caution
The Excellence mantelpiece is made with mantelpiece profiles instad of vertical decorative strips. Chapter 5.14
describes how these mantelpiece profiles can be removed.
Ø
Remove the vertical decorative strip (see Appendix 3, Fig. 6 (A)) on the left and right of the glass window by
pushing the lip at the top of each strip up (1), tilting the top of the strip parallel with the glass window (2), and
then removing the strip.
Ø
Unscrew the self-tapping screws (see Appendix 3, Fig. 7 (S)) in the top strip of the glass window using the socket
spanner supplied.
Ø
Loosen the self-tapping screws (T) in the fastening strip on both sides 2 turns.
!Caution
Do not remove the self-tapping screws (T): leave them in place in the fastening strip.
Ø
Push the 2 top wedges (U) (left and right) down as far as possible.
Ø
Push the 2 bottom wedges (V) up as far as possible.
Ø
Press the two fastening strips (X) outwards with you hands as far as possible to avoid damage to the insulating
rope.
!Tip
Slightly tighten the middle self-tapping screw (T).
Ø
Grab the handgrip at the top and lift the window (see Appendix 3, Fig. 8 (1)).
Ø
Firmly grab the glass window at the bottom, tilt the glass window towards you (2) through the opening in the
mounting frame and pull the top of the glass window towards you at the same time.
!Caution
-
Make sure you hold the handgrip firmly. If you let go of the handgrip then the glass window could fall
inwards and cause severe damage to both the glass and the appliance;
-
Make sure that you lift the glass window out of its mounting frame as straight as possible to avoid damage
to the paintwork and the insulating rope;
Ø
Gently allow the glass window to drop at an angle (3) until it can be removed entirely from the mounting frame.
5.11.2 Placing the glass pane
The glass window is fitted by using teh above procedure, in reverse order
(see Appendix 3, Fig. (6 to 8).
!Caution
-
Avoid/remove fingerprints on the glass pane, since otherwise they will burn into the surface;
-
The self-tapping screws must not be over-tightened, since otherwise they could break or strip the thread:
tight=tight;
-
Replace the fastening strip (X) if the insulating rope has come loose.
Pay attention to the following when fitting the glass window:
Ø
Begin by checking that the two fastening strips (X) are pressed outwards as far as possible to avoid damage to the
insulating rope.
Ø
Place the glass window back in the U-shaped slot (see Appendix 3, Fig. 6 (B)) at the bottom in the combustion
chamber.
!Caution
Fix the top strip of the glass window in place with the self-tapping screws.
Ø
Push the two bottom wedges (V) downward.
Ø
Push the top wedges (U) upward so that both fastening strips (X) push against the glass pane with the insulating
rope.
Ø
Then tighten the self-tapping screw (T) at each wedge.
!Caution
Press on the wedge with your hand to hold it in place while you tighten the screws.
Ø
Then tighten the middle self-tapping screw in each fastening strip.
Ø
Fit the vertical decorative strips (A).
