cleaning and maintenance
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, unplug your Series 500 and turn off the water supply under
the sink before cleaning. Do not attempt to repair the Series 500, only authorized personnel should attempt repairs.
Cleaning the exterior
of your Series 500
Your Series 500 is designed to be
cleaned with mild soap and water
only.
The drip trays are easily removed and
dishwasher safe.
NOTE:
DO NOT use chemical or
abrasive cleaners because they
may cause the finish to scratch or
wear away.
Emptying the Drip Collector
Your Series 500 is equipped with a
drip collection tray and fullness
sensor at the base of the unit. When
full, a LED light will flash on the touch
panel and a soft alarm will sound. To
empty the drip collector, simply slide
the tray out, empty, and then slide
the tray back in.
NOTE:
If the LED light continues to
blink after emptying, the unit senses a
possible water leak. Unplug the unit,
wipe dry. Then replug.
Draining the tanks
If transporting, storage or descaling is
required, the tanks must be drained.
First, unplug the unit then shut off the
water supply under the sink.
Holding a basin underneath to collect
spilling water, unscrew the drain plug
and collect the water as
it empties.
You may want to place a towel on the
floor to catch any stray drips.
