Section 5 -
Spring Assist Option
(Idler End)
1.
Remove the safety screw and slide from the top idler endcap.
Retain these pieces for later

2.
Install the Top Roller Assembly
(Fig. 6-B)
. First, install tube onto
clutch
(see Section 4)
, then swing the idler end into place. Slide the
idler end spear up into the receiver. If necessary, compress the
spring-loaded spear.
3.
Install the Bottom Roller Assembly
(Fig. 6-B)
. First, install tube
onto clutch
(see Section 4)
, then swing the idler end into place.
Slide the idler end spear up into the receiver. If necessary,
compress the spring-loaded spear.
4.
Replace Slide and Safety Screw.
Place into groove at an angle, slide up,
and make sure the bottom of the slide
is hooked into the Receiver
(Fig. 6-A, reversed)
.
Caution:
The retaining clip must be installed around the idler-end shaft as shown to prevent the roller
assembly from moving left or right during operation, and to ensure that the spring-loaded shaft does not
retract into the mechanism in case of a bearing failure.
5.
Test shade to ensure that roller is
level and operating properly.
If not, adjust idler leveling screw with
3mm Hex Wrench
(Fig. 6-C)
, available
upon request when ordering shade.
Section 6 -
Safety Brackets
PLEASE NOTE:
Under certain extreme circumstances, the Idler Endcap of the FlexShade
®
Dual Roller NEXD may fail, due to the limitations of the detents designed
to hold the shade roller pins in place.
This kit contains
necessary
brackets to prevent shades from disengaging with the idler endcap and falling.
REMEMBER:
For correct fit, endcap covers MUST be installed! Ensure that the endcap covers are properly mounted to the unit.
IF FASCIA HAS BEEN ORDERED WITH THIS SHADE:
Fascia
MUST
seat in the notches
on both Safety Brackets. If endcap covers are received but not installed, Brackets may be
positioned too far apart and can prevent fascia from fitting securely on the brackets.
Installer
must
either: Add plastic endcap covers to clutch and idler,
OR
loosen the screws on either Idler End or Clutch End
(or both)

AND
move
endcap
(s)
inward until fascia is firmly seated on the bracket notches.
