Start screen
The start screen displays a red banner "Please Wait" which
shows that the unit is initializing. The initialization can take up
to 2 minutes based on the loading configuration. The last 30
seconds of the initialization is visible by a run down of the
banner. The banner disappears after ending of initialization.
The screen displays a maximum of 10 out of 99 possible
channels. Each channel will be represented with a channel
number, measured value, unit, gas, A1, A2 (A3, if configured -
otherwise hidden) and the channel name.
There are different types of channel selection. The direct input
of channel number or select more than ten blocks and using
the scroll buttons.
The status messages of individual channels will be color coded
for the corresponding status fields (e.g. channel 2 status
message A1 + A2 .. the fields A1 + A2 in channel 2 are red
flashing).
All channels have several preset status messages; Inhibit
(locking alarm in the current state), Fault (yellow), FSD
(overrange - red), FLTC (Fault communication/No Respond-
yellow), HCAL (Head calibration - yellow).
The display will jump automatically to any channel which
displays an alarm, fault or inhibit status. A coloured dash will
also be shown under the group button (3). Red for alarm and
yellow for fault or inhibit. As the alarm status information
carries the most importance there may be a slight delay in the
actual gas reading if there are a number of alarm triggered at
the same time. If there is a communication error between the
Dräger RVP 5000 and the REGARD system there will be
shown 8 small dashes instead of the measuring value.
