Marking
Serial No.
1)
1) The year of manufacture is indicated by the third letter in the serial num-
ber: D = 2012, E = 2013, F = 2014, H = 2015, J = 2016, K = 2017,
L = 2018 etc.
Example: Serial No. AREH-0054: the third letter is E, which means that

Instructions for Safety
To reduce the risk of ignition of a flammable or explo-
sive atmosphere, stricly adhere to the following Cau-
tion and Warning statements:
For CSA (Canadian Standards Association) applica-
tions observe the following:
Only the combustible gas detection portion of this instru-
ment has been assessed for performance. The instrument
is not classified by CSA for use in mines.
CAUTION
Use only battery packs type ABT 00xx or HBT 00xx. See
marking on battery pack for approved batteries and
related Temperature Code.
WARNING
Do not change batteries in hazardous locations!
WARNING
Do not mix new batteries with used batteries, or mix bat-
teries of different type or manufacturer.
WARNING
Remove batteries before servicing.
WARNING
Substitution of components may impair Intrinsic Safety.
WARNING
High off scale readings may indicate an explosive con-
centration.
CAUTION
Not tested in oxygen enriched atmospheres (>21% O
2
).
WARNING
Before each day’s usage sensitivity must be tested on a
known concentration of the gas to be detected equivalent
to 25 - 50% of full scale concentration. Accuracy must be
within 0 to +20% of actual. Accuracy may be corrected by
calibration.
