Note:
If your unit has an internal wireless radio, you will use port 1 for DSCP communication.
Use the following steps to configure your DSCP device settings:
1. Locate the RS232 data port to be used (ie: data port 3) located on the back of the NetGuardian.
2. Connect a RS232 serial cable between the RS232 data port and the serial port of Wireless Receiver.
For pinout, refer to section 6.7 Data Ports.
3. Log into the NetGuardian's Web interface.
4. Click Edit > Ports. This opens the Ports screen.
5. Click on the type (default: "OFF") located in the Type column for the data port ID (ie: data port 3) row.
This opens the Data Ports screen.
6. Select DSCP using the dropdown located in the Type column for the data port ID row.
7. Click the Submit Data button. The fields: Description, Baud, etc, will be automatically populated.
8. Verify Description is set to "DSCP port".
9. Verify Baud is set to 9600.
10.Click on Edit > DSCP (Wireless Sensor)
11.Select the type of DSCP device. For example, if you have purchased the wireless propane monitor,
you would select "Propane Monitor".
12.Clear the Module Address High and Low fields. After submitting, they should both read all zeros.
13.Click 'Submit Data' to save your settings.
14.Reboot the NetGuardian G5.
15.Once the NetGuardian comes back online, give it a few moments to initialize the wireless radio. You
will then press and hold the sync button on the wireless transmitter until you see the LED become lit.
Once this is done, the NetGuardian and Wireless Transmitter will become synchronized. If you
refresh the DSCP page, you should now see an address value in the "Module Address" fields.
16.Now configure the Analog Channels: For Propane Mon, channel 1 is Propane QTY in units Percent,
with range 0 - 100. Channel 2 is battery power. Since battery is 3.6V, Minor over and Major over
should be 3.7 and 3.8. Minor Under = 3.2, Major Under = 3.0
