its seat and make sure the inhalation valve assembly is not dirty or damaged. Replace the
spare part on the valve seat, from the inside of the mask, check that the inhalation valve has
been correctly positioned. Replace the inner mask and make sure that it has been correctly
positioned around the housing of the exhalation valve assembly (make a visual check through
the visor from outside). Check that speech module gasket and the visor seal are not damaged
or dirty and, if necessary, clean or replace the damaged parts. Insert the threaded connection
of the speech diaphragm through the hole of the visor and screw the cap by using the
disassembling tool.
10.6 Replacement of inner mask
Remove the speech module as described in paragraph 10.3, check that it is clean and not
damaged and apart it together with the o-ring and the threaded locking ring. Unscrew the
external cap on the speech module with the disassembling tool and remove carefully the
inner mask including the speech module from the exhalation valve housing. Check that the
groove of the exhalation valve assembly is not dirty or damaged. If necessary, clean or replace
the damaged or worn parts. Secure the inner mask on the exhalation valve assembly and
check that it has been correctly positioned, through the visor. Make sure that the speech
module gasket and the visor seal are not dirty or damaged. If necessary clean or replace
them. Insert the threaded connection of the speech module in the hole placed on the visor
and screw again the cap by using the disassembling tool. Replace the speech module as
described in Par. 10.3.
10.7 Replacement of check valves
Remove both the check valve assemblies from the inner mask, and afterwards the valves from
their seats; check their integrity and that they are clean. If necessary clean or replace.
Assemble the valves on their seats first, checking the disk of the valves remains flat.
Afterwards replace the seats onto the inner mask paying attention that the rubber stems of
the valves are directed outwards the inner mask.
10.8. Replacement of the inspiration valve on the filter connector in the Sfera SP/A ASB and of
the connector seals. Remove the ferrule in the intenal part of the mask, the gasket and the
seal in expanded material. From the external side, remove the filter connector with the
inspiration valve and the other seal in expanded material. Replace the inspiration valve on the
filter connector. Afterward rebuild the assembly inserting the components in the correct
order. At the end, tighten the ferrule until it stops.
