RS-232 Connector
The RS-232 connector is used for serial communication between a host and the PowerGate™
modem. The connector is a standard female DB-9.
The PowerGate™ modem’s serial port is 19200 Baud.
The RS-232 port specification is listed in Table 3 RS-232 DB-9 (female) Connector Pin
Assignment.

Power Input Connector
This connector is a polarized 8-pin DIN connector. It is used to provide power to the PowerGate™
modem and couple the PowerBus™ signal to the communication medium.
The AC-to-DC power adapter converts AC power (120, 240 V

at 50/60 Hz) into a regulated 16
V
DC
. All power adapters include a PowerBus™ coupling circuit.
Note:
ONLY the power adapter provided with the PowerGate™ modem can be used with
the PowerGate™ modem.
