Chapter 4
System Maintenance
This chapter explains how to maintain the Dolby
®
Show Store and Dolby Show Player. The
sections that follow show you how to diagnose and repair hard drives and power supplies.
4.1 Maintaining the Show Store Internal Hard Drives
If one of the Show Store’s internal hard drives fails, its corresponding front ‐ panel LED
turns from green to red, as shown in the example in Figure 4 ‐ 1.

If a drive fails while a show is running, the show continues to run without interruption. If
one drive fails, no information is lost. If a second drive fails before you replace the first
failed drive, all information is lost (and any show in progress stops running). For this
reason, you should replace a failed drive as soon as possible.
4.1.1 Replacing a Drive
To replace a Show Store internal hard drive:
1. Note the front ‐ panel number that corresponds to the problem drive (the number next
to the red LED).
2. Remove the Show Store’s front panel by placing one hand on its left side and one hand
on its right side, then pulling it toward you until it disengages from the main unit, as
shown in Figure 4 ‐ 2.
