Frequent ask questions & troubleshooting

My vehicle has XM Tuner module but subscription has expired. Will the 
CTS-HF work without subscription? 

YES.  

In addition, an AUX input is provided by which users can connect and 

play auxiliary audio devices (Mp3 Players, iPod, DVD, iPad etc.

  

Auxiliary 

input is not available to XM Subscribers. 

2.

 

I’m not the original owner and don’t know if vehicle has XM Tuner. How 

can I find out without ripping it apart? 

Turn Radio “ON”. Press “BAND” button repeatedly to cycle through 

AM/FM/CD/XM1/XM2. If only AM/FM is displayed, vehicle does not have the 
XM Tuner Module and not compatible.

Does the CTS-HF work on all radios? 

Works CTS Navigation and non-Navigation radios and non-Navigation SRX.

 

Does not work on SRX Navigation radios. 

4.

 

Can I control my Smartphone music from the radio buttons? 
NO;

control button and/or voice commands to operate the device.

Does the radio screen display phone number and song name?

 

NO

. Smartphone screen must be used to display song and number details.

How to I listed to XM?

 

 Press BAND or XM button on radio to enter XM mode (if not already) then 
press control 

button 4 times. These steps also apply to play Auxiliary 

device (non-subscribers only)

Where is the best place to install the control button/mic?

 

We found that having the control button/mic mounted higher on the dash 
worked best, but users can experiment with different location and decide 
which works best for them. 

8.

 

Will the radio mute when I receive or make a phone call? 

This system will not mute audio playback unless radio is in Bluetooth mode. 
If listening to AM/FM, the radio will not mute. In addition, radio must be 
switched 

to “

XM

” (

Bluetooth Mode) so caller can be heard on car speakers.

 

9.

 

My second phone does not pair or find the Bluetooth module? 

In order to pair another phone make sure no other phones are connected. 
Once Bluetooth is turned off, the device will be free and ready for pairing.  

10.

 

Will I be able to use the USB port to connect and play music from flash 
drives?

 

NO. 

The USB port is for charging only (1.8A). Devices requiring more
