5.1
Emptying and cleaning the dust container
It is best to empty the dust container after each vacuuming session.
However, empty the dust container at the latest when the ‘MAX’ mark
(Fig. 9/A1) has been reached, if storing it for a long period, or when sending
it.
1.
Switch off the appliance,

2.
Press the button to release the suction hose (Fig. 9/A2) and remove it
from the appliance.
3.
Press both buttons to release the housing cover (Fig. 9/B1) and open
the housing cover until it stays open by itself.
4.
Pull the dust container up and out of its holder (Fig. 9/C).
5.
Empty the dust container by holding it low over a dustbin and only then
press the release button (Fig. 9/D1) .
6.
To make it easier to clean the dust container, now remove the central
lamellae filter,

7.
Remove any residual dust from the dust container using a dry cloth or
a soft brush, e.g. the supplied furniture brush.
8.
Close the dust compartment bottom plate.
5.2
Cleaning central lamellae filter and motor protection filter
It is best to clean the central lamellae filter and the motor protection filter
each time you empty the dust container.
Though clean both filters at the latest when the cleaning indicator
(Fig. 1/2) lights up.

Switch off the appliance and empty the dust container,

2.
Turn the cover of the vacuum cleaner in the ‘open’ direction (Fig. 10/A)
and remove it from the dust container (Fig. 10/B).
3.
Take the filter screen off the cover by twisting in the ‘UNLOCK’ direction
(Fig. 11/A).
4.
Now take the central lamellae filter off the cover by turning it counter-
clockwise (Fig. 11/B).
5.
Remove adherent agglomerations of dirt by hand. Brush the central la-
mellae filter clean with the supplied furniture brush.
6.
Take the motor protection filter from its holder (Fig. 12/A). Remove ad-
herent agglomerations of dirt by hand.
7.
If some of the filter elements are still dirty after this dry-brushing proce-
dure, rinse them in cold, clear flowing water until all dirt is gone.
8.
If one of the filter elements is damaged, replace it with a new one (or-
dering information

9.
Put the new / cleaned and completely dry motor protection filter back
into its receptacle (Fig. 12/A).
10.
Put the new/cleaned and completely dry central lamellae filter back on
the cover and lock it by turning clockwise (Fig. 12/B). You will feel and
hear the central lamellae filter snap into place.
ATTENTION:
Switch off the appliance before emptying the dust container. This will
prevent dust from damaging the appliance.

NOTE:
You can dispose of the contents of the dust container with your regular
domestic waste as long as it does not contain any substances not per-
mitted in domestic waste.

NOTE:
If your cylinder vacuum cleaner is also equipped with a filter fleece
(optional) or you have acquired one, pull the filter fleece off the filter
screen and clean it together with the filters (see below).
ATTENTION:
The filter elements are washable, but may not be cleaned in dishwash-
ers or washing-machines. Also, do not use detergents or brushes with
hard bristles to clean them. Let the filters dry for approx. 24 hours at
room temperature after cleaning. Only put them back into the appliance
when they are completely dry.
