Congratulations – you have chosen the DIRECTTECH infrared heating
panel on the basis of the Direkt-Erwärmungs-Technologie D.E.T.®.
This was the first step to equip your home or your place of work
with a natural heating to create an atmosphere where you feel
comfortable.
For the use of the DIRECTTECH infrared heating panels (in the
following DIRECTTECH heating panels) please note the following
instructions:
1. The installed DIRECTTECH heating panels must be regulated and
controlled with a thermostat, wired or wireless.
2. For the initial startup and at the beginning of the first heating
period, the funk thermostat should be adjusted to 20°C (air
temperature). Please check this with a thermometer which is
NOT directly positioned in the area of radiation. Many thermos-
tats switch relatively inadequate compared to the adjusted and
measurable temperature.
3. It is important that the matter which can be walls, floor, ceiling,
and other contents (fitments) of the room, is warmed evenly. In
case of an existing humidity, mostly in the exterior walls, it is
very important that it can be withdrawed (by heating) over the
surface.
IMPORTANT: humid material needs more energy to get warm.
Depending on the material humidity it takes some time (some-
times up to 2-3 weeks) until this process is completed and your
brickwork obtains the ideal basic dryness (ca. 3,5%) as well as a
proper elementary tempering is taking place.
Please do not reduce the temperature during this process, this

would lead to a longer duration of the process. Please also refrain
from turning down the heat at night.
4. After approximately 3-14 days (by material humidity not higher
than 4% and a constant surface temperature of ca. 20-21°C) you
have received the elementary tempering and you can now reduce
the air temperature about 1-2°C on your thermostat.
5. We recommend you to hold a certain elementary tempering (ca.
15°C) even in rooms which are rarely used.
6. In those rooms which are used regularly you should hold the tem-
perature of 18-19°C if you do not leave your house for longer than
24 hours. It will cost you more energy if you must reheat severely
cooled down matter.
7. You will notice that the warmth is spreading out constantly and
now you can, if required, temporarily and specifically, for a short
time turn up the temperature of single DIRECTTECH heating
panels using them as a “systematic heating with direct radiant
heat“ (many people already feel comfortable at an air tempera-
ture of 15°C when the surfaces are warmer than the air and there
is a healthy relative air humidity of ca. 40-60 %).
Experiments have shown that people who spend time in a room
which has an air temperature of 15°C and a wall temperature of
22-23°C feel very comfortable, whereas the same people tend to
freeze at an air temperature of 23°C and a wall temperature of
15°C.
Walls which are humid and cold also radiate cool. Walls which are
warm and dry radiate warm.
