Swapping SPXg/gt Diagnostic ROM (if applicable)

Cautions

When swapping the diagnostic ROM from the graphics

module, antistatic precaution must be adhered to.

Before removing and installing the diagnostic ROM, be

sure to note the orientation of the IC chip keyway in

relation to the chip IC socket. If you put the diagnostic

ROM in backwards, then the system will not function.

Swapping
the SPXg/gt
Diagnostic
ROM

If the SPXg/gt diagnostic ROM is version 1.1 or lower, then it will

need to be replaced. To replace the ROM, complete the following

steps:

Locate the SPXg/gt diagnostic ROM on the graphics

module and remove it from the socket using a chip puller

or a small flat-head screwdriver.

Install the new SPXg/gt diagnostic ROM into the chip

socket.
