5. If you answered n to the last question, the installation program asks for the network number of the
configuring computers. These computers must be entered as a complete subnet, that is, a range that can
be written as a network number and a netmask (like 10.47.2.128 with netmask 255.255.255.128, which
means the computers 10.47.2.128-10.47.2.255):
All computers on this subnet will be allowed to configure the BorderNet 500 Gateway. For more information

6. If the IP addresses of the configuring computers are not on the same network as the IP address of the
BorderNet 500 Gateway, the installation programs asks for the following information:
• IP address of the router that resides on the network where the BorderNet 500 Gateway is connected.
• Network address and mask of the network containing the configuring computers.
Enter the requsted information. For example:
The installation program prompts requests a password. This is the password to use in your web browser for
accessing and changing the BorderNet 500 Gateway’s configuration.
7. Enter a password.
The installation program asks whether you want to reset the rest of the configuration.
Network number [0.0.0.0]: 10.47.2.0
Netmask/bits [255.255.255.0]: 255.255.255.0
Static routing:
The computer allowed to configure from is not on a network local to
this unit. You must configure a static route to it. Give the IP address of
the router on the network the unit is on.
