BIOS Setup
3.1.2.11 Security Option
This field determines when the system will prompt for the pass-
word - everytime the system boots or only when you enter the
BIOS setup. Set the password in the Set Supervisor/User Pass-
word submenu.
System
The system will not boot and access to Setup will be
denied unless the correct password is entered at the
prompt.
Setup
The system will boot, but access to Setup will be de-
nied unless the correct password is entered at the
prompt.
3.1.2.12 APIC Mode
Leave this field in its default setting.
3.1.2.13 MPS Version Control for OS
This field is used to select the MPS version that the system
board is using.
3.1.2.14 OS Select for DRAM > 64MB
This field allows you to access the memory that is over 64MB in
OS/2.
3.1.2.15 HDD S.M.A.R.T. Capability
The system board supports SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and
Reporting Technology) hard drives. SMART is a reliability predic-
tion technology for ATA/IDE and SCSI drives. The drive will pro-
vide sufficient notice to the system or user to backup data prior
to the drive’s failure. The default is Disabled. If you are using hard
drives that support S.M.A.R.T., set this field to Enabled. SMART is
supported in ATA/33 or later hard drives.
