ZVHDD Utility

79

The system board supports the Suspend to Disk function. With the
ZVHDD utility installed, the system is capable of storing all
information of the current operating session into the hard drive when
the system powers off, using just one Windows button (“Suspend”)
to replace the sometimes tiresome process of closing files,
applications and operating system. These saved data includes all the
programs and data files loaded into system memory during the
session. The operating session will resume exactly where you left off
the next time you power on the system.

Make sure the “Suspend Mode Option” field in the Power
Management Setup is set to “Suspend to Disk”. Refer to Chapter 2
for details.

Installing the ZVHDD Utility

1. After you power up your system, the BIOS message appears on

the screen and the memory count begins. When it starts to boot
Windows

95, press <F8>. The message “Windows 95 start” will

help you determine that the system is starting to boot Windows

95.

2. After pressing <F8>, the following will appear.

1.

Normal

2.

Logged (\BOOTLOG.TXT)

3.

Safe mode

4.

Step-by-step confirmation

5.

Command prompt only

6.

Safe mode command prompt only

7.

Previous version of MS-DOS

3. Select “5” and press <Enter>.

4. Insert the diskette that contains the ZVHDD utility into a floppy

drive.

5. Copy ZVHDD.EXE from the diskette to “C:\”.

6. At the “C:\” prompt, go to the ZVHDD directory by typing

ZVHDD. The options and parameters shown on the next page will
appear.
