Replacing Worn Cutterheads (Fig. L)
1. Remove the four screws

on the die using a
crosshead screwdriver.
2. Remove the faceplate

from the die.
3. Remove and replace the worn cutterheads

nOTE:
The numbers on the cutterheads must
correspond with the numbers on the die slots and
should always be replaced as a complete set.
4. Attach the faceplate and lightly tighten the four screws.
5. Screw a threaded pipe into the dies until they begin
to thread.
6. Securely tighten the four screws, making sure not to
overtighten and remove the threaded pipe.
nOTE:
After replacing the cutterheads always perform a
test cut to make sure the die is working properly.
Repairs
The charger and battery pack are not serviceable. There are
no serviceable parts inside the charger or battery pack.

(including brush inspection and replacement, when

Always use identical replacement parts.
1. After use, wipe down the tool and remove excess oil.
Use a degreasing oil.
2. Remove the shaving debris from the cutterheads.
Cleaning
WARNING:
Blow dirt and dust out of all air vents with
clean, dry air at least once a week. To minimize the risk
of eye injury, always wear ANSI Z87.1 approved eye
protection when performing this procedure.
WARNING:
Never use solvents or other harsh
chemicals for cleaning the non-metallic parts of
the tool. These chemicals may weaken the plastic
materials used in these parts. Use a cloth dampened
only with water and mild soap. Never let any liquid
get inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool
into a liquid.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, turn unit off and remove the battery pack
before making any adjustments or removing/
installing attachments or accessories.
An
accidental start-up can cause injury.

®
System and Low Voltage
Indicator LED (Fig. A)
The DCE700 is equipped with the

system. This feature senses the motion of the tool and shuts
the tool down if necessary. The E-Clutch® indicator

illuminate red to indicate status.
The low voltage LED indicator

will flash white to alert
the user of low voltage conditions.

Withdrawing Pipe from Die (Fig. A)
1. Stop threading when the end of the pipe is flush with
the face of the die.
2. Slide the clockwise/counterclockwise selector

into the opposite direction to back the die off the
new threads.
3. Continuously apply cutting oil to the pipe and the
threader while withdrawing pipe from the die.
4. Stop when the die has separated from the new threads.
5. Visually inspect the thread for defects and check the size
with a gauge.
