volume can be activated in the menu (see page 34). The default setting for the loudspeaker volume
is set automatically to level 3 for every connection.
The volume levels for the earpiece or the loudspeaker can be set independently from one another.
Abbreviated Dialling
In addition to the local telephone book, there are other telephone books in the communication sys-
tem that are available. These can be accessed via the Local Menu. The selection of the entries is
made with the abbreviated dialling digits. For further information, see page 29.
PIN
You will need a PIN for specific settings (for example lock). The delivery state PIN is 0 0 0 0 (4x zero),
but you can change it (see Local Menu, page 33). Enter the PIN, when prompted by your device.
Telephone Lock
Your handset can be "locked" completely with the telephone lock function. Every function is then
only possible after entering your PIN. Both outgoing calls (except emergency calls / SOS) as well as
incoming calls are PIN protected (see Local Menu, page 32).
Speaker / Hands-Free Use On / Off
A long key press on the R key

during a connection turns the loudspeaker on or off.
You will achieve the best quality when you lay the handset on the table with the keyboard side
facing down. If you place the handset in the charging station during the call, the speaker will
automatically be switched on. After removing the handset, the earpiece mode will be reactivated.
