System Requirements

Note:

If no connection can be es-

tablished by following the instruc-
tions in the Brief Guide to Initial Con-
figuration starting on page 71, refer 
to the more detailed explanations be-
low.

A normal TCP/IP-capable PC with a 
Web browser is required for the ini-
tial configuration. The PC should at 
least meet the following require-
ments:

IBM-compatible 200 MHz PC

■

32 MB RAM and 50 MB of free 
hard disk space

■

Microsoft Windows 95/98, 
Microsoft Windows 2000/XP or 
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 oper-
ating system

■

Microsoft Internet Explorer ver-
sion 4.0 or higher, or Netscape 
Communicator version 4.5 or 
higher

Note:

Microsoft Internet Explorer is 

already installed in current versions 
of the Microsoft Windows operating 

system. If required, a Web browser 
can be installed from the system CD 
delivered with the OpenCom 510.

In addition, the selected type of con-
nection requires further system 
components that you may have to 
install on your PC. The driver soft-
ware is normally supplied with the 
hardware, and the appropriate ver-
sion should be available for your op-
erating system. You will find the sys-
tem software on the installation CD 
of your operating system.

For connection on the V.24 port 
(COM port) you need:

Hardware: one free serial port 
(RS-232, V.24) and a serial cable 
(SUBD9). System software: se-
rial port driver and TCP/IP proto-
col software

■

Driver software: RAS adapter 
software for installation on the 
service PC (is included on the 
CD)
