Installing Modules

Installation

Detail: Printing on the front of an
“MX+S01-8” type interface card

CAUTION!

Static charge can damage elec-
tronic devices. Observe the regu-
lations regarding electrostati-
cally sensitive components.

4. Carefully push the interface card

into the corresponding slot. The
printing on the front of the mod-
ule should be at the top (see il-
lustration in previous instruc-
tion).

Ensure that the backplane plug
of the interface card is securely
plugged into the socket on the
backplane.

5. Refit the screws to secure the in-

terface card in the 1-12 frame.

6. Plug the desired cables into the

corresponding RJ45 sockets on
the interface card. Refer to

Mod-

ules

starting on page 52 for in-

formation on the pin assign-
ment for each interface card.

7. Cover any unused slots with

dummy covers (included in the
scope of delivery).

The dummy covers must be se-
curely screwed to the frame!

8. If you have exchanged the inter-

face card, you will need to reacti-
vate the slot for this card.
