Remedy
Turn the lid
slightly
towards the ‘large bub-
bles’ position.
Clean under running
water. Dirt particles can
only get into the Cyclo
cylinder if the filter is
not working properly.
Therefore, always clean
the filter first.
Fault
Too many bubbles are
being expelled from the
waste-gas vent.
Cause
The waste gas vent set-
ting is too high.
Too much CO
2
is being
supplied.
Too little water is being
directed through the
Cyclo cylinder.
Remedy
Turn the lid
slightly
towards the ”small bub-
bles” position.
Reduce the CO
2
supply
slightly.
Increase the flow of
water by turning the
control tap.

Setting
the waste-gas vent
The waste gases are automatically drawn off at
regular intervals by the specially designed Cyclo
lid. To adjust the waste-gas vent, it is possible to
turn the lid slightly:
At the left-hand stop (turning clockwise), the
waste-gas vent is fully open, as can be seen by the large bubbles emitted there. The
more you turn the lid in a counter-clockwise direction, the smaller the bubbles will
become. Turning the lid as far as it will go to the right closes the waste-gas vent.
Please note the corresponding symbol on the lid.
The waste-gas vent should be used in such a way that the waste gases are drawn off
regularly, while allowing the residual CO
2
in the Cyclo head as much time as possible
to dissolve. To this end, always start with the lid in the ”large bubbles” position. If
too many bubbles are expelled from the waste-gas vent, turn the lid slightly towards
the ”small bubbles” position.
The right amount of CO
2
For magnificent plant growth, Dennerle recommends a CO
2
level in the aquarium
of between 15 and 30 mg/l, between
20 and 25 mg/l is ideal.
The num-
ber of bubbles per minute required to achieve this CO
2
level depends on a num-
ber of factors (types of plants used, water current, surface area/volume ratio,
etc.). This is why it is always necessary to determine the CO
2
amounts for each
aquarium individually. Rule of thumb for the basic setting: start with approx. 10
bubbles per minute per 100 l of aquarium water; e.g., for a 200-l aquarium use
2 x 10 = 20 bubbles per minute. Check the CO
2
supply and the CO
2
levels in the
aquarium water regularly and adjust the CO
2
supply if necessary. Warning: if
necessary, only ever increase the CO
2
level gradually over the course of several
days!
Please note: the more vigorously the surface of the water is set in motion (e.g.
by filters, additional aeration), the more CO
2
will be expelled from the aquarium
again.
Dennerle Professional Tip:
• It is easiest to measure the CO
2
content using the Correct
CO
2
long-term
test from Dennerle
. This test directly and permanently indicates the CO
2
content of the aquarium water via corresponding colouring. GREEN corre-
sponds to the optimum value of between 20 and 25 mg/l. No further aids
or water testing are necessary to determine CO
2
levels!
Cleaning the Cyclo Turbo
Clean with warm water and a soft sponge. Do not use any detergents. The Cyclo
can be fully dismantled for cleaning. The inner components can be cleaned using
a soft bottle brush.
What do I do if ... – troubleshooting
The Cyclo Turbo operates reliably and problem-free and does not require any spe-
cial maintenance. Should it not function properly, however, the faults are very
easy to remedy.
Dennerle professional tips:
• Always protect your valuable pressure reducer against corrosion caused by
intake of water! To do so, use only check valves designed for use in combi-
nation with CO
2
, e.g. the
Dennerle CO
2
special check valve
. Normal
air check valves may become brittle through contact with CO
2
within only a
short space of time, making them leaky. This usually occurs unnoticed.
• Every day, large quantities of valuable CO
2
may be lost through hoses that
are not CO
2
-proof. That is why we recommend using the
Special Dennerle
CO
2
hose Softflex
• If you wish to attach Cyclo in a concealed position behind plants and stones,
it is highly recommendable to use the bubble counter as a control instrument.
The
Dennerle CO
2
Bubble Counter Exact
is particularly convenient
and precise. A further advantage: using a bubble counter connected to the
pressure reducer makes adjusting the bubble count significantly easier,
quicker and more accurate.
