
Petrol tank maintenance (Fig 7).
Petrol is highly flammable and explosive at certain conditions. Take precautions when
handling petrol. Risk of serious burns or other serious injuries. Observe the following
instructions for maintenance of the petrol tank.

Stop the engine.
•
Carry out maintenance in a well-ventilated place.
•
Keep the source of flame, sparks and heat away from the tool. Do not smoke.
•
Take caution not to spill the petrol. Wipe the spill immediately, and dispose of the
cloth or paper towel in a safe manner.
Water, dust and dirt in the petrol tank will affect engine performance.
1. Remove the petrol filler cap, tilt the engine onto its inlet side, drain the petrol to a
suitable container.
3. Carefully remove the petrol filter from the filler neck using a wire.
4. Remove the water and dirt by rinsing the petrol tank with a non-flammable
solvent or a solvent with high ignition temperature.
5. Replace the petrol filter and tighten the petrol filler cap.
