
• The tool must not be used by children or unauthorized personnel.
• If you plan to resell the tool, hand this User Manual to the new owner.
• Do not use the petrol grass trimmer when:
- other people are present nearby, in particular children,
- user takes medication or has just taken any substance which may affect his/her reactions
or decisions.
• Keep a safe minimum distance of 15 metres between the tool and other people.
• Please remember that the user or the owner are responsible for any injuries or property
damage.
• Always wear protective clothing and other personal protective equipment.
- Protective clothing:
Always wear long sleeves and trousers with long legs. The clothes should cover the body
and must be buttoned up. Do not allow the buttons or zips to hang loose. Do not wear any
clothes with drawstrings, shoelaces, loose elements, ties or necklaces. Loose clothes might
become tangled in the tool and cause serious injuries. Tie your hair and do not let them
drop below your arms.
- Other personal protective equipment:
* Safety goggles: protects eyes against debris thrown by the rotating blade.

Helmet: wear a helmet as a protection against branches and falling debris
∗
Face mask: protects your face against the debris thrown by the trimmer.
∗
Earmuffs / earplugs: use hearing protection to protect your hearing against noise.
∗
Gloves: protect your hands against injuries.
∗
Safety boots: use safety ankle boots without shoelaces. Protects your feet against the
debris thrown by the trimmer. Do not work barefoot or wear sandals. Use shin guards.

Dust mask: dust mask is recommended for people with sensitivity to pollen and grass.
The masks are available in the pharmacies and may significantly reduce the number of
hazardous dusts affecting your body.
• Before each use, check the tool and pay special attention to the blade, cutting system,
guards and bolts to make sure no components are worn, broken or loose.
• Avoid working at night or in low visibility conditions to reduce the risk of injuries.

• Never run and keep a balanced stance when using the grass trimmer.
• Take special precautions when working on slopes. Especially, if the ground is slippery or
soft.
• Do not modify the petrol grass trimmer in any way. Tool modifications may result in
serious injuries.
• Do not use the grass trimmer without the debris shield or any other components. Please
remember that the debris shield protects the user against the debris thrown by the blade. Do
not use the petrol grass trimmer with the debris shield removed or not in place.
• Do not use any non-genuine spare parts and do not modify the tool - it may result in
injuries to the user and third party or property damage. Use the trimming tool compatible
with a specific model.
• Before starting the engine, make sure the trimming tool does not rest on the ground or any
other item.
• Start the motor carefully in accordance with the instructions in this User Manual and do
not touch the trimming tool.
• Start the tool on a flat surface only, free from obstacles and tall grass.
• Do not lift the rotating blade above your knees. The debris thrown by the rotating parts
may hit you in the face.
• Do not move the grass trimmer into new location with its engine running and trimming
tool rotating. Stop the engine and make sure the trimming tool is not rotating before
transport. Replace a plastic blade cover at the time of transport.
• Stop the engine in the following circumstances:
- before maintenance.
- before cleaning, inspection, adjustment or repairs,
- after hitting an obstacle. Check the trimming unit and gearbox for any damage.
- before leaving the tool unattended,
- before filling the petrol tank,
- when any other person or animal approaches,
- if abnormal vibrations occur. Vibrations might cause damage to the rotary parts or make
them loose.
Identify and eliminate the cause of vibrations before starting the engine,
- if a rope or line gets tangled into the trimming head. Clean the head thoroughly before
each use,
- before placing the tool on the ground. Make sure the trimmer head has stopped.
