1.
When cutting flat pieces, first check to see if the
material is bowed. If it is, make sure the material is posi-
tioned on the table as shown in Fig. 46.
2.
If the material is positioned the wrong way, as shown
in Fig. 47, the workpiece will pinch the blade near the
completion of the cut.
CONSTRUCTING WORK SUPPORT EXTENSIONS
One of the unique features of your miter saw is the ease with which you can construct work supports. Fig. 48,
illustrates the miter saw mounted to two standard 2 x 4 s (A). Fasten the grooves in the two mounting legs (B), to
the 2 x 4 s using four screws through the four holes in the mounting legs. The length of the 2 x 4 s (A) can vary
depending on your preference. The distance from the top of the 2 x 4 s (A) to the compound miter saw table is
3-5/8 inches. This enables you to fasten standard 2 x 4 s (C) to the top of the 2 x 4 s (A), as shown. The top of the
2 x 4 s (C) will then be the same height as the miter saw table; or minor adjustments can easily be made depend-
ing on the height of your 2 x 4 s. This method allows you to provide support for long workpieces using standard
2 x 4 s instead of constructing an expensive, complicated work support.
