Guide

This guide provides instructions for installing one or more Dell

PowerVault 630F Disk

Array Enclosure (DAE) or PowerVault 650F Disk Array Processor Enclosure (DPE) stor-
age systems, and an 800-watt (W) or 900-W Standby Power Supply (SPS) in a Dell
rack.

Rack Kit Components

The rack kit includes some of the following items (see Figure 1-1)

•

One pair of support rails (DPE and DAE only)

•

One or two SPS units (800-W or 900-W)

•

One tray assembly (800-W SPS tray or 900-W SPS tray)

•

Two retention brackets (DAE or DPE)

•

One cage-nut installation tool (DPE and SPS tray)

•

Six 10-32 (or M5) pan-head Phillips-head screws (800-W SPS tray)

•

Ten or 16 M4 x 10-millimeter (mm) pan-head Phillips-head screws with attached
washers (900-W SPS tray)

•

Six M5 x 16-mm pan-head Phillips-head screws with and without attached wash-
ers (800-W SPS tray)

•

Four #10 (or M5) flat metal washers

•

Four 10-32 (or M5) cage-nuts

•

Three mounting brackets and filler plate (900-W SPS only)

•

Two front mounting brackets and bezel (800-W SPS tray only)

NOTES: The number of parts may vary, depending on the equipment you ordered

If you have purchased a Dell rack along with your PowerVault storage system, the support
rails and tray are preinstalled in the rack.
