Heat-Sink Fan

Dell™ OptiPlex™ XE Service Manual—

Desktop

Removing the Heat-Sink Fan

1.

Follow the procedures in

Before Working Inside Your Computer

.

2.

Release the 12V power cable from its routing clip.

3.

Disconnect the heat-sink fan cable from its connector on the system board.

4.

Remove the screws that secure the heat-sink fan to the heat sink assembly.

5.

Remove the heat-sink fan from the computer.

Replacing the Heat-Sink Fan

To replace the heat-sink fan, perform the above steps in reverse order.
