INSTALLATION
• Supply with cold and hot water, with a maximum difference in
temperature of 50°C between the hot and the cold (recommended
at 45°C), by balancing the pressure (
Δ
P < 1 bar). In the UK and Ireland
a thermostatic mixing valve should be installed to provide anti-scald,
safe hot water temperature control. Maximum supply pressure is
10 bar maximum (we recommend 0.5 to 5 bar dynamic pressure).
PRE-ASSEMBLED KIT
Recessing in a standard wall
(fig.
2
)
• Drill a recessing area for the recessing box and for the inlet pipes.
• Allow for the recessing depth (fig.
1
) and the finished surface of the
wall in respect to the front face
A
of the recessing box.
Recessing in a plaster board wall
(fig.
3
)
• Mount the recessing box on the two brackets
B
between the uprights
C
240mm apart.
• The front face
A
of the recessing box should be mounted on the uprights
C
.
• Make sure the recessing box is level.
• Allow for the recessing depth (fig.
1
) and the finished surface of the
wall in respect to the front face
A
of the recessing box.
Installing the recessing box
(fig.
4
)
• Place the recessing box in the recessing area.
• Make sure it is level.
Pre-assembling the pipework
(fig.
5
)
Insert the temporary drain fitting
E
with the unions (do not install
the filters) and secure the pipes above.
Finishing the wall surface
(fig.
6
)
• Put the protective cover
F
in place and finish the surface of the wall.
• The distance between the finished face of the wall and the front face
A
of the recessing box should be between 10 and 30mm. Trim the excess
from the recessing box.
Waterproofing the recessing box
(fig.
7
)
• Seal around the recessing box with a waterproof sealant (without
the protective cover).
• Replace the protective cover
F
(fig.
6
) on the recessing box.
CONTROL KIT
Models with shower heads
(fig.
8
)
Mount the shower head so that the nozzle
G
is 2.10m from the floor.
Installing the mixer and wall plate support
(fig.
9
,
10
)
• Remove the protective cover
F
(fig.
6
).
• Flush the pipes using the valves
H
and
I
.
• Install the mixer
D
.
• Mount the wall plate support
J
carefully tighten in place and make
sure it is level.
Installation
(fig.
11
)
• Mount the wall plate
N
using a 2mm Allen key.
• Insert the control lever
M
and tighten the screw V and insert the cover
C
.
THE INSTALLER MUST ENSURE:
• THE SEAL AROUND THE RECESSING BOX IS WATERPROOF TO PREVENT ANY
INGRESS OF WATER; ANY WATER ACCIDENTALLY ENTERING THE RECESSING
BOX (E.G. CONDENSATION, RUN OFF, LEAKS, ETC.) HAS A DRAINAGE POINT;
• THE INTEGRITY OF THE SEALS BETWEEN THE WALL PLATE SUPPORT
J
(fig.
10
)
AND THE WALL AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR, AND MAKE GOOD IF NECESSARY.
If this advice is not followed, water may leak into the wall. DELABIE
cannot be held responsible for any ingress.

FOR CONTACT DETAILS).
ADJUSTING THE TEMPERATURE
(fig.
12
)
> Maximum temperature limitation:
• All our mixers are supplied with the maximum temperature limiter pre-
set at the factory to avoid any risk of scalding. For the UK and Ireland
we recommend installing an appropriate, approved thermostatic
mixing valve to provide safe, anti-scald hot water.
Where thermostatic
mixing valves are installed the temperature limiter MUST BE
REMOVED from all point-of-use mixers
• Hot water should be stored at 60°C and distributed so that it reaches a
temperature of 50°C within one minute at outlets. (Health & Safety
Executive L8 Approved Code of Practice and Guidance). Recommended
maximum temperature settings for healthcare applications are: bidets
38°C, washbasins and showers 41°C. For all other countries please
refer to the relevant hot water safety guidelines.
> Adjusting the maximum temperature limiter.
To adjust the pre-set, remove and reposition the index ring located
underneath the control lever. The index ring position determines the
maximum temperature at the mixer outlet.
• To access the cartridge, remove the control lever by removing the cover,
unscrewing the grub screw using a 2.5mm Allen key then unscrewing
the screw cover (fig.
11-D
) on the body of the mixer.
• To adjust the hot water (HW) -
A
, remove the index ring and turn it
clockwise to increase the maximum temperature limit, or anti-clockwise
to reduce it. Replace the index ring and check the temperature at the
mixer outlet to check the maximum desired temperature.
• To return to the maximum hot water position -
B
, align the marker on
the index ring with the marker on the cartridge.
REMEMBER
•
Our mixers/taps must be installed by professional installers
in
accordance with current regulations and recommendations in your
country, and the specifications of the fluid engineer.
•
Sizing the pipes correctly
will avoid problems of flow rate, pressure
loss and water hammer (see calculation table in our brochure and
online at www.delabie.com).
•
Protect the installation
with filters, water hammer absorbers and
pressure reducers to reduce the frequency of maintenance
(recommended pressure: 1 to 5 bar).
•
Install stopcocks close to the mixer/tap to facilitate maintenance.
• The pipework, stopcocks, bib taps and all sanitary fittings should be
checked at least once a year, and more frequently if necessary.
SERVICING AND CLEANING
•
Cleaning chrome:
Do not use abrasive, chlorine or acid-based
cleaning products. Clean with soapy water using a cloth or a sponge.
•
Frost protection:
Drain the pipes and operate the mixer/tap several
times to drain any remaining water.
MAINTENANCE
Foreign bodies in the pipework may cause the mechanism to malfunction.
• Check the cartridge operation at least once a year, and more frequently
if necessary. Replace if necessary.
Removing the cartridge
• Remove the control lever
M
(fig.
11
)
• Remove the cover plate
N
using a 2mm Allen key (fig.
11
).
• Shut-off the water supply at the isolating valves
H
and
I
(fig.
9
).
• Remove the screw cover
D
, then the locking nut
E
, and remove the
cartridge
K
(fig
11
).
Beware: do not grease the inside of the mechanism.
