Cleaning the Canopy
7.1. The canopy is made of very high quality,
UV-radiation resistant material. The water
repellent surface withstands rain showers
lasting approximately 10 minutes. Please be
sure that the canopy has completely dried
prior to folding! Should the folded canopy
become wet, it is imperative that it be opened
in order to dry!
7.2. The material can be washed with lukewarm
water and mild cleaning agents. Please use a
sponge or soft brush to wipe the material. The
canopy should be completely extended and
the hinges should be locked in Position 2.
(Fig. 10)
7.3. After cleaning, make sure that the canopy has
dried completely before folding.
➔
CAUTION: Folding the canopy when it is wet
or damp can cause permanent stains!
Removing the Canopy
8.1. The canopy contains four rods, which give
the canopy its shape. These rods are bent
and arched under high tension and are held in
position by the hinges.
8.2. Loosen the top row of hexagon bolts with the
enclosed hexagonal wrench until the pins can
be safely pulled from the hinges. (Fig. 11)
Do not loosen the bottom bolts of the hinges!
8.3. Carefully remove the pins. Disassembly
should definitely be done by two people.
8.4. The rods can now be pulled out of their
casings so that the canopy can be cleaned.
8.5. Care Instructions
Please follow the recommended washing
instructions for the Orbit canopy.
The canopy should not be machine washed,
as this could affect the impregnation, thus
making the material more susceptible to dirt.
It is recommended that the canopy be dry
cleaned.
Soiling caused by air pollutants should be
removed with a dry brush at regular intervals.
Small stains and dirt can be removed by hand
washing using a detergent for fine washables
and lukewarm water (approx. 30°C).
Afterwards, rinse the canopy several times
with clear water until all the detergent has
been removed. Then let the canopy air-dry.
Under no circumstances should a high-
pressure machine be used.
Important - always remove stains immediately.
For hardened or even soft dirt, the coarse
particles should be removed before treating
the stain with a blunt knife. Carefully blot the
stain with an absorbent cloth or sponge –
never rub. Work from the edge of the stain
towards the middle, in order not to spread
the stain. Should the stain already be dry,
then gently dab it with it with a damp cloth
or sponge until it disappears. Never remove
a stain using a household cleaner (e.g.,
washing up liquid).

damage the casters. (Fig. 7)
Positioning the Orbit Sofa
6.1. When using the Orbit Sofa on uneven or
sandy surfaces, it is advisable to mount the
solid plastic gliders instead of the casters.
6.2. In order to replace the casters with gliders,
turn the sofa upside down and remove the
casters by unscrewing the mounting. (Fig. 8)
6.3. Replace the casters with the gliders. Make
sure that the glider mounting plates are
screwed securely to the underside of the unit.
