wARNINg:
No vertical free fall is permitted in rescue systems.
The anchorage point should be located at a position above the
user’s head but within reach to allow safe reliable attachment to the
connecting subsystem.
ImPORTANT:
If the descender is likely to be used by several
people, it should be installed at a location that is readily accessible
for all intended users.
DESCENT PaTH aND laNDiNg aREa ClEaRaNCE:
•
The access
and landing areas should be unobstructed. The access area should
be kept clear of any obstacles that might hinder descent or injure
the user. The landing area must be clear of obstructions to permit
safe landing by the user. Signage should be strategically posted to
prohibit storage of non-rescue equipment or materials anywhere in
the descent path.
wARNINg: Failure to provide an unobstructed descent path and
landing area may result in serious injury.
TESTiNg THE SySTEm:
•
Capital Safety recommends perform-
ing a test descent using a minimum weight of 95.25 kg (120 lb.).
The descent speed should be uniform, and allow the user to reach
the landing area safely. See also Section 2.0 Descent Speed and
Descent Height.
SHaRP EDgES:
•
Avoid using this equipment where components
will be in contact with, or abrade against, unprotected sharp
edges. If working near sharp edges is unavoidable, cover the sharp
edge with a heavy pad.
5.0 INSTAllATION
This product must be configured in a vertical descent application (see
Figure 2). It is not intended for use in sloped descent applications.

CONNECTiNg TO yOUR bODy SUPPORT:

body harness or other means of supporting the user
must be used
with this device. When using a full body harness, connect to the
front (4A) or back (4B) D-ring. Ensure the D-ring is positioned to
hold yourself upright. See full body harness manufacturer’s in-
structions for more information. See General Instructions for Use
and Maintenance 14.
